Life Skills Through Soccer:
Spring Academy 2007 Program
P.O. Box 443, Cranbury, New Jersey 08512

The LSTS Academy Spring Developmental Soccer Program is a way for young players to get involved in a training program that will help them learn the game in a fun but structured enviornement. The 7 week program will have 2 weeks of 1 hour training sessions and 5 weeks of 30 minute training followed by 30 minute of teams playing small sided games. No scores or standing will be kept. The director of the program is Jorge Roman who has an extensive backround working with youth players of all ages. Jorge was just named the 2006 NSCAA/ADIDAA youth Coach of the Year and holds a National Youth A License, the highest level of coaching in the United States. As opposed to a standard Recreation Program, the LSTS Academy Developmental Program gives the parents and the player an inside look at what a Competitive Travel Program may look like when the players get older.

Our objectives are:

Provide competitive soccer training and personal character development.
Focus on each student-athlete's growth both as an individual and as an effective team member.
Provide players with experience through which they can learn lifelong lessons applicable in a wide variety of settings and relationships.
Emphasize the use of moral and ethical principles as the primary educational tool for accomplishing success.

Teams will be made up by age group/grade and not by ability. The program will be run by LSTS FC and LSTS ACADEMY staff members and older LSTS Travel team players will be volunteering to help out with the program.

Cancellations:
In the event of inclement weather or if our fields have to be closed, we will announce the cancellation on the www.lstsacademy.org website by 3:30 pm on Mondays and Fridays. Also our LSTS Academy Hotline will be updated as well. Please cal 609-475-5087 for cancellations. LSTS Academy also follows a lightning policy. This policy is followed by USYSA. If thunder is heard or lightning is seen during an Academy session, players , parents and trainers will need to seek shelter. All program activities must stop for a period of at least 30 minutes after the thunder or lightning was last detected. If, while waiting due to inclement weather, another lightning strike is seen or thunder is heard, the 30-minute mandatory waiting period must start again. LSTS Academy will cancel that days session if needed due to the above situation.
