Winter Training Program

One of the most unconventional and demanding ways of playing soccer is “Beach Soccer”. Mostly practiced in tropical weather countries, beach soccer originated as an economical way of training and playing used by casual participants. More recently, trainers and coaches have defined beach soccer as a useful tool that could be applied to training programs in all levels of participation, including the professional clubs.
A great developer of strength and physical conditioning, beach soccer is also a great developer of basic coordination skills as: balance, time-space, and foot-eye relationships.
Beach Soccer became so immensely popular in most of the leading soccer developed countries that in the 1980’s FIFA introduced the Beach Soccer World Cup. Several times, the US Beach Soccer National Team has reached the final stages of the World Championship.

Whether is used as a hobby or as a training tool; beach soccer is probably the cheapest way of playing the sport, that require the minimum or no equipment at all. The dimensions of the field and the time spent on playing depend on the number of participants and/or the kind of activity or exercise for what the game is intended.

Because its demands, the LSTS Beach Soccer Program is intended for extremely committed, competitive and discipline players age 9 to 16. The Beach Soccer Program is intended as a compliment to other summer soccer participation (e.g. Summer Select Soccer Teams), team training (for those players whose teams play in summer leagues, or a pre-season program).
The program’s curriculum includes all the elements of the pre-season work outs as long runs, plyometrics, speed training, strength training with team-mate’s participation as a resistance, small sided games, technical-tactical training, games, etc. Participants should plan to spend a day at the beach in every training session.
The LSTS Beach Training Program runs on designated Saturdays between the first weekend in July to mid-August. The training sessions start around 9:00 AM and last until 4:00 PM. The Program is held at Belmar Beach on Ocean Avenue between the 1st and 2nd avenues
.
Participants in the Beach Soccer Program are required to have a base fitness conditioning form before getting involved in the training sessions. This program is not recommended for athletes with skin related medical conditions, heat stroke vulnerability, heart diseases or those recovering from an injury trying to use this training sessions as part of their rehabilitation therapy routine.
